| subject Bryophyllum beauverdii - rare? |
| do0d 2005-11-25 01:37:22 |
I've been loving Bryophyllum for about 2 years now. I only grow them indoors and can see why people call them weeds as they do make quite a mess inside if I ever have to move them.
I've got a few different varieties and of all of them I just about never see Bryophyllum beauverdii anywhere. Its definitely neat and does grow and drop babies. In fact, I see the name mentioned on this site and only 1 picture listed under unknown.
This variety (unless I'm doing something wrong) does not seem to be as eager with the plantlets and only now after growing the plant for over a year do I have decent plantlets with roots that I am starting in pots -- but the plants sure do grow. I think mine are now 4 feet long and strung up all over as its not a very strong plant.
I'm wondering why you don't have more info/pictures on this variety on the site? Are these that rare? I purchased mine off of ebay about 18 months ago.
Thanks for the great site tho, VERY helpful info! |

Hi there!
I don't know if Bryophyllum beauverdii is rare, at least I never had one and none of the members of my site seem to have one.
Can you upload a photo ? (make sure it's size is lower than 100k)
That would be great! Thanks!
Yours,
Captain.

I am pretty sure my plant most resembles the one you have on the upper left of your web site home page - what variety is that?
Thanks,

| Everytime I go to plant one, my wife ends up getting a little too close with the lawn mower... just about any plant in my yard is rare, except grass and weeds. |
